Noah Berkowitz, M.D., Ph.D.
President and CEO

Dr. Berkowitz earned his B.A., M.D., and Ph.D. from Columbia University and trained at the National Cancer Institute in medical oncology. Prior to founding HaptoGuard, he was a consultant to a variety of biotechnology companies in Israel including Predix Pharmaceuticals, IDGene and Teva. He was previously Vice President of Clinical Development at IMPATH Inc., a NASDAQ-traded, “cancer information company” where he co-developed a division, IMPATH Predictive Oncology, focused on biopharmaceutical partnerships supporting the discovery and development of cancer-related, targeted diagnostics and therapeutics. Prior to IMPATH, Dr. Berkowitz was the founder of Physician Choice Inc., a contract research organization specializing in pharmacoeconomics and outcomes.

Carl M. Mendel, M.D.
Vice President, Clinical Development, and Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Mendel received his B.A. from Columbia University in New York and his M.D. from the University of California, San Diego. He did his post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at LAC/USC Medical Center in Los Angeles and in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of California, San Francisco, where he joined the faculty as Assistant Professor of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and in Endocrinology and Metabolism. He joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1993 and has held positions of increasing responsibility at Merck, Knoll, Aventis, and sanofi-aventis. He joined Synvista Therapeutics in October, 2007 from sanofi-aventis, where he was Vice President of Metabolism Projects. Dr. Mendel has had extensive experience working in both early- and late-stage drug development, as well as in Medical Affairs (supporting marketed products), and has contributed to a number of drug approvals. He has led numerous collaborations and co-development projects with other companies and has significant in-licensing experience.

Jacob Victor, Ph.D.
Executive Director, Product Development, Clinical Diagnostics

Dr. Victor received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the City University of New York followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the Roche Institute of Molecular Biology. Dr. Victor has 27 years industrial experience in clinical diagnostics, molecular biology and immunoassay product development. Before joining Synvista, he held several senior positions at Tepnel Lifecodes Corporation including Vice President and Director of Development, Vice President of Operations and most recently, Executive Director, U.S. Manufacturing Operations. Dr. Victor was responsible for the development, manufacture and regulatory processes leading to the successful commercialization of several leading-edge HLA DNA and antibody typing diagnostic kits. Prior to Tepnel Lifecodes, Dr. Victor held product development positions at Enzo Diagnostics and Roche Diagnostics.

Ms. Wendy Milici
Director Finance and Administration

Ms. Milici joined Synvista in November 2004 and serves as the Company’s Director of Finance and Administration and Prinicipal Financial Officer. Prior to Joining Synvista, Ms. Milici served as an audit administrator at AXA Financial, f/k/a The MONY Group, as a senior analyst and project coordinator at Solomon Brothers from 1993 to 1998, and as a lead assistant in the loan syndication department at JP Morgan from 1991 to 1993. Ms. Milici holds a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, from Caldwell College and will receive her Masters in Business Administration from Caldwell College in December 2008.
